Course is designed to introduce students to economic systems and economic setting in which it functions. Students will look into how businesses operate and are organized, and issues that affect us as consumers, workers, and citizens. Students will earn about consumer behavior, career exploration and learn to manage personal and financial affairs. The course will also cover dealings with consumer credit, writing checks, investing and insurance. Students will also have the opportunity to be involved in DECA. -

Course is designed to introduce students into the field of marketing. Knowledge of basic economic concepts, promotion, selling, pricing, distribution, and market research will be highlighted within different industries. Students will be exposed to documentaries, guest speakers, and web chats with people from a variety of industries to further enhance the class material. Outside class time will be required for participation in DECA.

Course is designed to build on Marketing Principles, but not a prerequisite. Introduction of topics regarding management, communication skills, product development, entrepreneurship, and career development will be a main focus. Career exploration and leadership development will be a component of this class to help further develop the student for after high school decisions. Students will be involved in DECA, which may require outside of class time.

This course is to help students become financially responsible, conscientious members of society. To reach that end, this course develops students understanding and skill in such areas as money management, budgeting, financial goal attainment, the wise use of credit, insurance, investments, and consumer rights and responsibilities. This course will give students the tools and resources needed to make wise financial decisions. Students will analyze their personal financial decisions, evaluate the costs and benefits of their decisions, learn basics of the stock market, recognize their rights and responsibilities as consumers, and apply the knowledge learned to financial situations encountered later in life. Students will also have the opportunity to be involved in DECA. -

Students will learn how styles and techniques in animation have changed over time. Reviewing animation from the first animated films to present feature length animations will give students a perspective on this rapidly changing industry. Through hands on projects, students will experience the production of different forms and techniques of animation, including early animation and flipbooks, claymation & stop motion, and computer software programs such as Adobe Animate, After Effects, and Flash. -

Take pictures and edit images using Photoshop! In this class students will learn how to edit and enhance digital photos with special techniques and tools using popular software in order to restore old photos and create photo composites. Students will also be introduced to various photo editing freeware. An electronic portfolio will be created as a component of the evaluation. Students will have tangible evidence of their achievements that they can take with them when looking for a job or applying for college! This class is an excellent starting point for students interested in Multimedia & Animations. -

Prerequisites:Photoshop and Computer Graphics
The goal of this semester course is to explore advanced Photoshop techniques. This is accomplished through working with advanced layer techniques, gaining an understanding of how to use curves and other adjustment layers for image enhancement, and an overall exploration of Photoshop. Students will explore several advanced Photoshop techniques including advanced layering, portrait retouching, tool and palette customizing, and special effects. 3d design will also be explored with the help of Adobe Illustrated and the use of the Solidoodle 3d printer. -

Accounting is planning, keeping, analyzing, and interpreting financial records. This course will introduce basic underlying accounting principles, debit-credit concepts, profit-loss understandings, transaction analysis, and will work through the accounting cycle and record-keeping for a partnership and a single proprietorship. Simulations will be inserted as appropriate and will introduce variety and enrichment in a number of business/accounting related areas. -

Cybersecurity gives students a broad exposure to the many aspects of digital and information security, while encouraging socially responsible choices and ethical behavior. It inspires algorithmic thinking, computational thinking, and especially, “outside-the-box” thinking. Students explore the many educational and career paths available to cybersecurity experts, as well as other careers that comprise the field of information security. The course contains the following units of study: Personal Security, System Security, Network Security, and Applied Cybersecurity. -
