Students will learn how styles and techniques in animation have changed over time. Reviewing animation from the first animated films to present feature length animations will give students a perspective on this rapidly changing industry. Through hands on projects, students will experience the production of different forms and techniques of animation, including early animation and flipbooks, claymation & stop motion, and computer software programs such as Adobe Animate, After Effects, and Flash.

Take pictures and edit images using Photoshop! In this class students will learn how to edit and enhance digital photos with special techniques and tools using popular software in order to restore old photos and create photo composites. Students will also be introduced to various photo editing freeware. An electronic portfolio will be created as a component of the evaluation. Students will have tangible evidence of their achievements that they can take with them when looking for a job or applying for college! This class is an excellent starting point for students interested in Multimedia & Animations.

The goal of this semester course is to explore advanced Photoshop techniques. This is accomplished through working with advanced layer techniques, gaining an understanding of how to use curves and other adjustment layers for image enhancement, and an overall exploration of Photoshop. Students will explore several advanced Photoshop techniques including advanced layering, portrait retouching, tool and palette customizing, and special effects. 3d design will also be explored with the help of Adobe Illustrated and the use of the Solidoodle 3d printer.

Cybersecurity gives students a broad exposure to the many aspects of digital and information security, while encouraging socially responsible choices and ethical behavior. It inspires algorithmic thinking, computational thinking, and especially, “outside-the-box” thinking. Students explore the many educational and career paths available to cybersecurity experts, as well as other careers that comprise the field of information security. The course contains the following units of study: Personal Security, System Security, Network Security, and Applied Cybersecurity.
