    Bienvenue! In this fun and interactive beginner course, students will dive into the basics of French through hands-on activities, games, music, and real-life conversations. With a focus on essential vocabulary and pronunciation, students will quickly learn how to talk about themselves, navigate everyday scenarios, and explore French-speaking cultures. By the end, students will feel confident greeting others, holding simple conversations, and even tasting food in French—perfect for future travelers and language explorers alike!

    In French 2, the students have extensive vocabulary and grammar practice through oral classroom drill and written exercises. Emphasis is on reading, writing, and conversational practice. French culture, geography, and history are incorporated into each unit. This course is open to students who have completed French 1.

    In French 3, the emphasis is on vocabulary, conversation, history, and culture. This course is open only to juniors or seniors who have completed French 2.

    This course is offered only to those students who have successfully completed French 3.  Emphasis is on historical and cultural aspects of France from the early years to the present. Literacy works as well as a comprehensive grammar review are also included.

    The course consists of basic grammar, oral practice, and elementary reading selections. Vocabulary is emphasized. Focus is on basic grammar and oral work.  Tapes may be used to accompany all lessons for listening and speaking practice.  Cultural units are contained within the text. The student purchases a supplemental workbook.

    This course is a continuation of Spanish 1. Grammar continues with more emphasis on speaking, reading, and writing. The student purchases a supplemental workbook. Cultural units are contained within the text. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Spanish 1.

    The fourth year of study will consist of a brief review of grammar but will concentrate on refining the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills acquired by the student in the first three years of language study. The course will emphasize history and culture. The literature of Spanish speaking countries will be included. The student purchases a supplemental workbook. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Spanish 3.
