NSCC - SSC120 American Government
The course explores and examines the landscape of national government and the political process in the United States. Areas of study include an in-depth discussion of the US Constitution, federalism, civil liberties, elections, interest groups, the Presidency, Congress, and the judicial system. Critical thinking, reflection, and a willingness to participate in discussions is needed to be successful. The course will be challenging and rigorous, as expectations are students will be able to obtain college credit. Students who wish to pursue studies in history, government, political science, and/or cultural studies focusing on the relationship between citizens and governmental agencies will benefit from this course prior to entering college.
