Honors Chemistry

The course is designed to provide the aspiring science student with an opportunity to learn chemistry at a higher level for those wishing to take collegiate chemistry or physics and continue their science education into college. The course offers opportunity for enrichment through the use of math concepts, technology, and detailed lab work. Topics include symbols and metric systems, matter, formulas, chemical equations, atomic structure, stoichiometry, nuclear chemistry, gasses, solutions, bonding, acid based theory, oxidation reduction, etc. Weekly lab experiences and activities complement theory while emphasizing safety and science writing skills.  The goal of this course is understanding chemistry concepts with less memorization.
