Visual Media Technology
Visual production and analysis skills play an important role in the development of a well-rounded modern education. Understanding how and why mass media productions are created helps students build a deeper understanding of society and helps them communicate more effectively. The course encourages students to assess mass media, understand media impact on the individual and society, and learn to create effective visual communication. Students will explore various forms of media production, including animation, advertising, multimedia presentations, newsgathering, graphic design, photography, and editing. They will also understand how to build partner- ships within our school community and serve the community’s media needs. Course work will prepare students for further study and careers in media technology, and support any career choice, considering media presentation technologies are an integral part of virtually every vocation. Students who participate in this course will work on the Wildcat Broadcasting Network (WBN).
